I have been working at Pal's, a locally owned fast food chain, off and on for the last three years. I have learned the fundamentals and values of the business. I have learned how to make the food, how to handle the customers, and even how to clean things that do not look all that dirty. But as of two weeks ago my whole prospective changed.
Two weeks ago I became a manager. I was now running my own shifts, counting the drawers, and closing up shop. Well, little did I know how different things would be once i crossed this thresh hold. I went from coming to work to not only work but to have a good time, to going to work to make sure the business was kept to the standards in which i had been trained. While work still has its fun times I am now starting to understand the ideals of business. I see now that this is a journey to not only better myself, but the employees and the business as a whole.
Like i said there are still fun times at work. I just see them from a different perspective. I went from thats hilarious to, thats funny but are we still getting work done. So while fast food may seem boring to most to me it seems like a chance to grow and to change the way I act in the work place.
